It’s being referred to as Viral Marketing. Basically it’s a way to exponentially grow momentum for a specific topic or product. Through the use of extremely fast technology – Blogs, Instant Messenger, Email, Websites – you can generate a buzz that is unrivaled in recent years. It’s the age of instant gratification and instant knowledge. Everybody wants to be in on everything. Nobody wants to be chatting with friends and not know what the latest and greatest is.
And with that, I give you a fun website that is making it’s way around the blogosphere:
This is a guy that took 100 companies and wrote hilarious letters to them asking for free stuff. He spent a lot of time doing this right (if there is a right way to do that sort of thing) and is very thorough in chronicling all his results. I came across this because my company happened to make the list. I’d say we are being displayed in a good light and that’s a good thing!
Anyway, have fun checking it out. Be sure to read everything. It’s a hoot. It was a little slow this morning, I think he is getting slammed by more readers than he was expecting. Long live the power of the blog.
