Yesterday I was cruising a church rummage sale and came across some CD’s in a box. I love finding music in places like this. You usually find obscure and old stuff, and typically at a very reasonable rate.
This time was no exception. I picked up two for a grand total of $1. The first was Labor of Love by UB40, one of the first CD’s I ever owned. I got rid of it in college, but it really is a great album. And UB40′s story has always been inspiring.
Then I picked up Remember by Rusted Root. I have never to my knowledge listened to Rusted Root. The name just rang a bell, and I’m still not sure where that bell rang from. They’re not bad. They have sort of a Shakira/Pearl Jam love child feel to it. Some people have referred to them as a jam band, but I’m digging all the instruments they use.
Have any of you heard of Rusted Root? Do they have better albums? Better songs? I think I’m becoming a fan.
