The following is a ten part series of Bono talking with Bill Hybels at the 2006 Willow Creek Leadership Summitt about his faith, about God, Jesus, the change in his life, and about love. Each part is around 5 minutes long.
Here is Part 1
Watch Part 2
“We believe that the poor deserve an honorable place at the table. They deserve the head of the table is how God would see things.”
Watch Part 3
“Duality is the mark of a lot of great art. It’s one of the things missing, for instance, in Christian art, because there’s no tension.”
Watch Part 4
“I am so fascinated by the idea of the Child being born in straw poverty. To me there is a poetic power to that. It is a remarkable story, the Christmas story, and it never fails to amaze me.”
Watch Part 5
“What else are you going to do with this thing called celebrity. I mean it’s ridiculous. It positively upends Gods order of things. Why would a filmstar or a rockstar or a sports star be more important than a nurse, or a fireman or a mother? It’s actually ridiculous. But hey it’s currency, and I decided I was going to spend mine.”
Watch Part 6
“The church has historically always been behind the curve. It’s amazing to me. In civil rights, in fighting against the rascism in the 60′s and the 50′s in South the United States, and Apartheid in Africa.”
Watch Part 7
(Part 7 seems to be identical to Part 6)
Watch Part 8
“Love thy neighbor is not advice. It’s a command. And who is our neighbor in the global village? Can an accident of longitude and latitude really decide whether you live or whether you die? In the global community, in a globalized world, can you say because that’s happening over there it’s not really my concern? Well you can’t if you’re a Christian. You cannot.”
Watch Part 9
“Stop asking God to bless what you’re doing. Find out what God is doing because it’s already blessed.”“A lot of people are happy with pie in the sky when they die. But I don’t think that is our purpose. Our purpose is to bring Heaven to earth in the micro, as well as the macro. In every detail of our lives we should be trying to bring Heaven to earth.”
I like love Bono.

Tough, you think you’ve got the stuff
You’re telling me and anyone
You’re hard enoughYou don’t have to put up a fight
You don’t have to always be right
Let me take some of the punches
For you tonightListen to me now
I need to let you know
You don’t have to go it aloneAnd it’s you when I look in the mirror
And it’s you when I don’t pick up the phone
Sometimes you can’t make it on your ownWe fight all the time
You and I…that’s alright
We’re the same soul
I don’t need…I don’t need to hear you say
That if we weren’t so alike
You’d like me a whole lot moreListen to me now
I need to let you know
You don’t have to go it aloneAnd it’s you when I look in the mirror
And it’s you when I don’t pick up the phone
Sometimes you can’t make it on your ownI know that we don’t talk
I’m sick of it all
Can you hear me when I
Sing, you’re the reason I sing
You’re the reason why the opera is in me…Where are we now?
I’ve still got to let you know
A house still doesn’t make a home
Don’t leave me here aloneAnd it’s you when I look in the mirror
And it’s you that makes it hard to let go
Sometimes you can’t make it on your own
Sometimes you can’t make it
The best you can do is to fake it
Sometimes you can’t make it on your own

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One man come here to justify
One man to overthrow
In the name of love!
One man in the name of love
In the name of love!
What more? In the name of love! One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resists
One man washed on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kissIn the name of love!
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love!
What more? In the name of love!Nobody like you
There’s nobody like youEarly morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your prideIn the name of love!
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love!
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love!
What more in the name of love?

Crash – Intense. Emotional. Mesmerizing. Our racial divide runs much deeper than we think.
A.I. – Thought provoking. A better study on the ethics of technology than a good movie though.
U23D – Amazing. I’d gladly pay to see that again!! They are at the top of my ‘must-see-before-I-die’ list.
Rambo – Bloody no doubt, but I thought it was a nice addition to the franchise.
300 – So much better than expected on my part. The art of the film didn’t overshadow the movie itself.
The Mothman Prophecies – Decently creepy.
Deliver Us From Evil – Disturbingly creepy. The pope’s got some ‘splaining to do!
The Lake House – Cheese quotient off the charts.
Next 3 in the Que: The Brave One, Hotel Rwanda, Total Recall

U2 — They are currently working on a new album. Here is a little blurb from Bono concerning its content:
“But don’t fret, fans of 1997′s Pop, for the forthcoming LP isn’t all world music, and may even heat up the dance floor. “Normally when you play a U2 tune, it clears the dance floor,” Bono claimed. “And that may not be true of this [new material]. There’s some trance influences. But there’s some very hardcore guitar coming out of the Edge. Real molten metal. It’s not like anything we’ve ever done before, and we don’t think it sounds like anything anyone else has done either.”
Last but not least, here are three separate posts with their picks for the best albums from 2007.
What are your picks for this year?
