Michael Vick — I’m starting to worry that this dude isn’t going to get a fair trial. When some prior felons flip on you that quickly, you wonder if they are simply trying to save their own necks and making stuff up. I’d also like to mention that I truly believe that had Vick beat his kids or his wife he would still be playing football right now. That’s how screwed up our PC machine has gotten. However, I still think Vick is a douche moron.

Barry Bonds — Well, he broke the record. I missed it by 30 minutes. It’s a shame that happened on the West coast. It’s also a shame that he’s baring the brunt of this steroid talk. The poor man is the equivalent of McDonalds in that regard. He’s never tested positive, and you can’t tell me that Albert Pujols, and A-Rod, and Ryan Howard aren’t using the same “aloe.” As far as people hating him in general, that’s his own fault. He’s been a jerk his whole career.

David Beckham — Much ado about nothing. I’m not even impressed with his spices.

Rick Ankiel — These are the stories that make me smile. Everybody in the sports world was rooting for a comeback from Rick. Very few of them thought it would happen as a position player. And to come back in this fashion (3 HR’s already) is amazing. Almost makes a Cubs fan want to root for the Cardinals. Almost.

Baseball — So many big numbers being thrown around this year—500 HR milestones, 756, 3000 hits, 300 wins. And so many good races. The Tigers are unbelievably still contending despite a horrid stretch of pitching. The Yankees are unbelievably still contending despite a horrid beginning. The Cubbies are in the thick of it too!

Football — I am so looking to the Fall football season. Going to catch a few games at the Big House, our fantasy football draft party is 2 weeks away, and Calvin Johnson is looking like the real deal. Oh, and Ron Jaworski is going to be a great addition to MNF.
