The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Tonia and I both enjoyed watching all three Terminators for the first time in 2007. Soon after watching them I discovered that a new Terminator movie is in the works (sans Arnold). I also learned that there’s a new show on FOX beginning January 13 called Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The series will focus on the character Sarah Connor, who is on the run with her son after Terminator 2: Judgment Day when Sarah, John, and the Terminator successfully destroy the T-1000 and the arm and computer chip from the first Terminator. Sarah and John then watch as the Terminator is lowered into a molten steel pit in an attempt to destroy all future technology that could be used to create Skynet. Sarah and John now find themselves alone in a very dangerous and complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that still more enemies — from the future and the present — could attack at any moment.

To be honest, I wasn’t planning on getting into this series but, with Jack Bauer and 24 not beginning this month, I have an open slot on my Monday evenings. And this looks like it will fit the bill.

24: Season 6 (4:00-6:00am)

Worst. Ending. Ever.

This is what happens to good shows if they get complacent. This is why Seinfeld went out on top.

Take the season finale of The Office and put it next to the season finale of 24 and you have a stark contrast. I’m not sure 24 is even on the relevant radar anymore. I can’t even write anything else about it. I’m left wondering if I’ll watch it next year. They’ll have to do some creative off-season advertising and story-lining to get me interested.

It’s a sad sad day.

24: Season 6 (3:00-4:00am)

I’m very concerned for the future of 24. I’m beginning to get the same feelings I had a few years into Survivor and The Real World. Both were great and raw at the beginning, only to become ridiculous and lose the natural feel that made them what they were.

It’s clear to me now that the formula for 24 has turned into extreme intensity in the first 4 and the last 4 hours. The middle seems to be just story telling to get you between the two bookends of good action.

Regardless, I’ll be locked and loaded next Monday @ 8pm for the 2-hour finale. I’ve even heard rumors of a revived former character, once believed to be dead.

We also haven’t seen the last of Buchanan this season.

24: Season 6 (2:00-3:00am)

DOWN GOES MILO!

I guess that narrows Nadia’s options a bit. Doyle probably won’t have anything to do with her now.

I’m convinced now more than ever that the CTU office in L.A. is the easiest office to penetrate in the nation.

And I still hold to my prediction that Josh is Jack’s son.

24: Season 6 (1:00-2:00am)

I honestly didn’t know that Dr. Jack was that head over heels for Audrey. It seemed like just a few hours ago he was making wedding arrangements with his brothers wife.

Speaking of Dr. Jack, Heller dropped the bomb on him that we’ve all been saying in our heads for the last six seasons. It’s no wonder he’s been trying to get himself killed all day.

Nadia almost kissed Doyle. (You know, the guy that was choking her a couple hours ago).

When Daniels tells Lennox that they have a bigger problem, and then says, “I’ve been sleeping with her too,” I literally laughed out loud.

Great episode.

24: Season 6 (12:00-1:00am)

Less action and more love stories is the direction these days.

24: Season 6 (11:00pm-12:00am)

Now we’re talking…finally we get some Chloe! Jack must have her number one on his speed dial by now. I mean, if Jack and Chloe were running things, these seasons would be cut in half.

So, this VP thing. I noticed a ring on his finger when he mentioned spending more time with his secretary. Did I miss something earlier, or is this a not-so-subtle hint at an affair?

And I love seeing Jack showing some emotion. Better watch out Cheng, looks like Jack was taking names in prison.

24: Season 6 (10:00-11:00pm)

All good things.

This episode once again got me back into it. They recovered quite nicely from the previous few weeks. They certainly caught me off guard with that staged ambush scene. When they all started popping up I almost messed myself.

Then Palmer faking the nuke strike, and Audrey returning to throw a twist into Jacks love life. (That guy Cheng can really hold a grudge!) I’m fully engaged now.

BTW, Jack is cold blooded! Say hello to your brother… ouch! Chuck Norris wouldn’t stand a chance with Jack, just so you know.

24: Season 6 (9:00-10:00pm)

Well, it seems to me now that they are trying to find more creative ways to push the envelope and it’s just becoming forced. To think that they needed to chop Gredenko’s arm off to escape is absurd. Not to mention that it didn’t even keep CTU away for more than 2 minutes.

And then Palmer launching the nuclear strike? Come on already. This show is quickly losing me, and the addition of Audrey in an week had better not be ill-conceived. I’m already upset that I chose this last night over the first half of the NCAA Championship game.

And where in the world was Chloe?

24: Season 6 (8:00-9:00pm)

Do yourself a favor and do NOT do a google image search for Mustache Milo. I believe the acronym would be NSFW. Goodness Milo, put some clothes on!

OK. I have completely lost track with what happened here.

Oh yeah, so who’s going to be the one that knocks out Doyle? My money is on Chloe. My money is always on Chloe. I expect her to be the head of CTU next year or I’m not watching.

The person that will stop Vice President Daniels from becoming the next Dr. Evil will be White House Chief of Staff Tom Lennox.
