Man, why do we love conspiracy theories? I know they intrigue me. Probably the biggest one of my time is the theory that our own government is behind the events of September 11, 2001. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t mildly interested in seeing and/or listening to evidence to support these claims. So much so that I watched a good chunk of the video called Loose Change a while back. While there were very interesting things in the video, overall it seemed a little less “documented” for my liking.
I say all this to say that I might see another conspiracy brewing. This most recent oil discovery off our gulf coast has me wondering it we actually knew it was there all along, but were waiting for the right time to tap into it. That perhaps they were testing our breaking point as a country dependent on oil.
Who knows, my other favorite conspiracies have yet to be played out.
1. Bin Laden is being held in hiding by the U.S. and will be “captured” before the end of Bush’s term to go out on a high note.
2. John Kerry was the fall guy to set up Hillary for a 2008 run for President.
