Over the last couple years I’ve grown tired of this cellular tether. I’ve never been someone who likes talking on the phone to begin with—after about 2 minutes I’m ready to throw the phone in the lake regardless of who’s on the other end. But lately I’ve gotten to a point where I’m done with answering the phone simply because it’s ringing.
Instead I’m now taking into consideration things like what I’m doing at the time, where I’m at, who’s calling, whether or not I feel like talking, etc. And a new rule of mine is to never pick up a call from a number that isn’t already loaded into my phone.
So if you’re trying to get ahold of me and I don’t answer, leave a message. I ususally check my voicemail very soon after it’s left—on my own time—and will call you back when I get a chance.
