It’s hard to respect a man more than one that recognizes a need and fills the gap.
That’s exactly what Brad Pitt is up to these days. Taking advantage of the notoriety of his successful acting career, Brad has made it his passion to help rebuild New Orleans. He plans to build 150 eco-friendly homes in the city’s Lower 9th Ward, an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina. In the storm’s aftermath, the community’s housing stock was largely demolished, leaving many of its residents living in trailers.
Pitt hopes that this project would be a catalyst for recovery and redevelopment throughout the Lower 9th Ward and across the city of New Orleans. Having listened to one former resident’s plea to help “make this right,” Pitt was inspired to name the project Make It Right.
I just love the fact that he’s doing this particular project. So many celebrities make other countries’ problems their passion, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s just refreshing to see one put the spotlight right here in America.
