Not technically, but I just discovered an album called Elevator Music where Paul Meany is leading worship at Victory Fellowship Church in Louisiana. Greg Hill and Darren King from Mute Math, along with others, also appear on this Live album which was released to bring in financial support for Katrina victims.
Here is the tracklist.
1. Joy (Shining Light)
2. My Glorious
3. King Of Glory
4. King Of Glory (interlude)
5. Fragrant Oil
6. Lily of the Valley
7. Awaken the Dawn
8. It Is You
9. Kiss the River
10. Love Song
11. Forty
12. Beautiful
13. Sweet Wind of Heaven
14. Make My Heart Your Home
15. Come To Me
It’s definitely one of those CD’s that make you wonder “What if?”
You can own your own copy here for only $13.00.

dude.
great find.
too bad its not on iTunes.
Isn’t Paul Meany a self-proclaimed universalist?
@evan: … and this goes for anyone else out there, if you’re interested in listening to it before you buy it just let me know.
@phillip: I believe you’re right. From what I’ve read Paul has become disenfranchised with his faith in the last few years. I don’t know why, but before Mute Math he was pretty heavily involved in his church and his “christian” band Earthsuit.
@phillip NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Mute Math songs don’t fit the Jesus per minute rule but are some of the most spiritual and true lyrics out there. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I’ve been rocking that CD for a while. King of Glory is the hotness on that album…
I agree with you about their lyrics, but I’ve read interviews with Meany where he has stated that he’s a universalist. It seems like he’s deliberately trying to distance himself from Christianity.
@phillip: I’ve been noticing that about Paul as well. Actually, while trying to find more about this album I ran across one guy saying that Paul told him he didn’t want to be associated with the album because it’s not what Mute Math is all about.
I understand why he and the band didn’t want to be under the CCM umbrella, but I really don’t understand throwing his entire faith under the bus. I think there is much more going on here than meets the eye.
And for the record, I too agree that Mute Math lyrics are some of the most spiritual lyrics out there. Very U2esque in that regard.
Yeah, I’m with you as well mudpup, about the faith under a bus thing, but sometimes the pains that others can cause might lead you to distance yourself from the label that group is associated with.
I don’t know him personally, but having chatted with him and listening in on convos at a few shows, it doesn’t seem necessarily like he’s driving a bus.
Great find! And, like others said, too bad it’s not on itunes.
Loved the clips, bought the CD.
Thanks, MP
dude id love to take a “listen”…ill hit you up later
Wow – amazing. Great find!!
just because Paul doesn’t want to be stuck in the box of being labelled a Christian doesn’t mean he isn’t one. this album is awesome.
[...] I mentioned this CD before but my official copy just came in the mail today. Elevator Music: Live Worship From Victory Fellowship is hands down the best worship album I own. [...]
This is an amazing worship CD…the gifts and callings of the Most High GOD are irrevocable (Romans 11:29)…I pray Paul comes in the fullness of his destiny that the Creator has for him, not that he has for himself…for everything aside from the perfect will of the Father for our lives is vanity.
i can’t believe you guys barely found out about this album, I have a RAW recording of earthsuit playing at my church, the songs include covers such as lean on me, hendrix’s fire song and more… its also an awesome cd… does anybody know how to put them on?
you’re my hero mudpup. now i have something to listen to while i wait for Mutemath’s new cd.
everybody…hold on…i don’t understand. Is he a brother in the faith or not? that is what is most important, his salvation. i know the singer from emery is a brother in arms but is not throwing it out there to gain the christian crowd. we have to be a light in the darkness.
mud pup give me some feed back
@Geizi: I’d have to give him the benefit of the doubt. He’s certainly not chatty about the subject.
does anyone know where i can find guitar tabs for the song king of glory? i wanna play it at my church but we need guitar tabs.. HELP PLEASe.
god bless.
Love the clips and gonna buy it. Thanks for the heads-up. As for Meany, let’s just all pray for him – it’s the one thing we can do that makes a difference. SHINE ON!
(Matt5:16)
Hey if i may…i tink this is definatly up there in terms of worship music… if i may add to the Meany discussion…his lyrics have really blessed me and brought me back to my faith. Whether he calls himself a universalist or not God is using him and that quite frankly is all i need to know.
who sings the song lily of the valley in the album
anything with paul meany I enjoy
2 bad he is no longer proud of being a christian
This is some really cool stuff, thanks for sharing it!
In terms of where people are with their relationship with God, in the end only He knows all that is truly in our hearts, and what is going on in our minds.
hummm… well maybe he’s got to keep the faith subject a lil dim due to contract issues with his publisher, Label exc… there have been cases were a band is subject to contract clauses were they can not openly express aspects of the music that would be in conflict of interest with the market that they are reaching; but I’m not saying I think it could be this, just trowing that out there… there CD is awesome both Mutemath and the EP. Very talented and YES king of glory is an awesome track… Jesus did say that by there fruits they will be known… Thanks MP… really awesome
Someone put this up on torrents already!
Yeah, the WORSHIP cd that they made to benefit KATRINA VICTIMS is totally worth STEALING.

judge not, lest ye be judged. only god knows his true heart. remember folks, the secular world will often reject anything labelled “christian” without giving it an honest listen first. better to use a velvet glove than an iron fist to lead them in the right direction. if the identify with the message in the music, they will dig more to find out why, and then they will discover the truth.
Seems like if he really wanted to be a shining light as he sings in the first song that he would be proclaiming the good news now without SHAME.. (Romans 1:16)
Yeah.. and you’ve never sang words to a worship song that you didn’t mean 100%.
is there any way to get this album as mp3 download? out of the country and can’t order the actual cd.
thanks.
email me. maybe we can work out a way to help you. cddudereborn@gmail.com
What are the official credits for this album, basically what I want to know is that if darren played for the whole album or only certain songs. Can you please clarify? I would appreciate it thanks
This is awesome, is it just me or does it seem that the mute math new album is not as spiritual as the older one?
FYI – this is on iTunes now! Look for it!
Great post. I used to be checking constantly this blog and I’m impressed! Very useful info specially the last phase
I take care of such info much. I used to be seeking this certain information for a long time. Thank you and good luck.
I just pulled this CD back out. I worked for Integrity from the beginning until they got sold last year and yet this independent record is still the most amazing, passionate, anointed and at the same time artistic worship I’ve ever heard… and I’ve heard hundreds. Buy it if you don’t have it.
