Movie Reviews

I watched a flurry of movies and documentaries over the last month without getting a chance to review them. So instead of the usual treatment, here’s simply the listing, and maybe a word or two of my thoughts…

I Am Legend – Great movie!!

Balls of Fury – I laughed.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets – The new Indiana Jones?

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – Not worth the 4 hour commitment.

Water Horse – Excellent family movie.

Bowling For Columbine – Better than Sicko.

Comedian – Jerry Seinfeld is a pro.

Who Killed The Electric Car – Short answer, the oil companies.

The End of Suburbia – Scary documentary.

Murderball – Wow. Inspirational and funny.

Born Into Brothels – Depressing, but inspirational at the same time.

The next three in the Que: 3:10 To Yuma, Walmart: The High Price of Low Cost, and Rescue Dawn

OH GOODNESS! – short answer, the oil companies! That was hilarious! I guess I don’t need to rent that one.

I think Rae and I are in the minority of those who actually enjoyed the new Pirates movie. I suppose it was because everyone hated it and Spider-man 3 and by the time we got around seeing them we enjoyed Pirates and I’m sure I don’t want to see another Spider-man movie.

I Am Legend – Great movie!! (agreed)

National Treasure: Book of Secrets – (okay: first one was better)

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – (yawn)

Water Horse – Excellent family movie. (on my to see list)

Comedian – (jerry seinfeld grates my nerves, so I won’t see this)

3:10 to Yuma (awesome! but slightly different than original)

Rescue Dawn (surprisingly good, not as action packed as I expected, but good none-the-less)

LOVED I Am Legend.

don’t EVER watch “Eastern Promise” – no matter what the reviews tell you – it was one of the most extreme Rated R movies we’ve seen. too much blood, sex, language, and nudity

The Walmart movie is an eye opener. Even if you only take 25% of it as true and accurate it is unbelievable. Will make you shop at Target next time if given the choice. You won’t look at small town – downtowns the same again.

Watched “Who Killed the Electric Car” recently (great documentary), then i heard that GM and Tesla are making another run at the electric car (yay for progress!) hopefully development of this technology can go on unhindered by the corporations that depend on oil consumption.
