Crazy 24 Hours

I just experienced one of the craziest 24-hour sequences.

On Monday night I was able to attend a Mute Math, Jimmy Eat World, Plain White T’s, and Coheed and Cambria concert. That was sweet enough, but the fact that I got in because Roy from Mute Math left a ticket for me blew my mind. The way it happened is a cool story, but needless to say my boy Blake from Renovaudio deserves most of the credit for telling him how big a fan I was!

Then on Tuesday our company acted on a suggestion of mine, and it couldn’t have made me happier. Every year our department goes out for a nice meal and exchanges ornaments. I suggested that this year, instead of focusing on ourselves, we go out to our pasta plant in Detroit, and give them gifts, and take them out to eat. They work in really rough conditions (in comparison), and in a really rough neighborhood. Anyway, my boss and the owner thought it was a great idea, and yesterday we all went out there and gave them gifts and took them to Fishbones. You wouldn’t believe how grateful they were. They kept thanking us and telling us how special they felt. That really made me feel good!!

Finally, that same afternoon in my mailbox was a shiny new CD. The business manager of Northern Room appreciated my comments on them recently and sent me the Deluxe Edition of Last Embrace to review. I’ve already given it 1.5 listens and let’s just say you should really own this album!

Wow. Pretty nice eh?

But then there’s the bad. Yesterday I also found out that my brother just lost his job. Another Michigan worker out of work with a house still for sale 2 years later. The timing couldn’t be worse. Please keep Tommy and his family in your prayers as they prepare for their unknown future.

Dude, that Fishbone story totally belongs here.

And sheesh! You get more free stuff…

Sounds like you had a great time. Great job in thinking about others who are less fortunate. Sure sounds like the heart of what Christmas is all about. Keep blessing others and the serendipity is…blessings come back to you!
