Living Legalistically

This guy took legalism to another level.

A. J. Jacobs decided to see what would happen if he followed the Bible as literally as possible. If it was in the bible, he was adhering to it, including more obscure details of Old Testament laws, which ultra orthodox Jews might follow: leaving side hair uncut, dwelling in huts on certain holidays, strict dietary routines.

The results are captured in his new book, The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible

This guy has courage. I don’t think I could bring myself to stone to death a rebellious child (Deuteronomy 21:18-21), or to “utterly destroy” persons of other faiths (Exodus 22:20).

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.

Numbers 12:3

Didn’t Moses write Numbers :)
But I do feel you Tom3!

Worshipcity,

While I am glad you feel me on this. I do have to present this arguement to you. Scholars believe Moses might not have finished Numbers to write that. There are events in the book that happened some time after his death. :)

To be technical (legalistic?), I believe the title to this book was tongue-in-cheek.
