In A Van Down By The River

This makes me jealous somewhat awful. A Florida couple has decided to sell most of their worldly possessions and live in a van down by the river. Literally. And then blog about it.

This plan is sort of getting hashed as we speak, so we’d love to get your input on every aspect on this trip. The rough plan as of now is:

1. Sell most of our crap. Store the rest.

2. Find, buy, steal, or otherwise get a van.

3. Pimp out said van with a custom bed, office, LCD tv, etc.

4. Get a high speed internet connection

5. Get laptops, photo, & video gear to document this crazy thing.

6. Figure out what to take along for survival

7. Go!

Am I the only one that thinks this would be fun and exciting? Talk about Living and Not Existing! I’m adding them to my blogroll as we speak. (Of course this immediately brings to mind a certain classic video).

Thanks for the mention. I’m hoping we can spread the word and get as many people as possible following along so we can crowdsource the cooler aspects of the trip from those who know – what kind of gear to get, where to go, etc.
Cheers!

My wife and I have a dream to one day do something pretty similar. With us the idea is to use our network of friends, pastors, churches, etc. to pack it all up, hop in a van/SUV and travel the country leading small worship experiences in people’s living rooms. Very similar, but with a hippie evangelist vibe.

….fun and exciting? Hmmmm….depends where you park the van. Running from repsonsiblity and accountability…..it’s a popular theme that gets old real quick….take it from an old hippie!
