Wild Hogs

I mentioned a few months back that our men’s group was beginning the Wild at Heart series. As you would expect we’ve had some very good discussions, and I learned a few things about group dynamics.

Well last night it was time for a break—a guys night out if you will. Instead of meeting as usual we headed up to watch Wild Hogs at the local theater on the recommendation of my brother.

What a great time! I’ll admit the script was less than stellar, and it was chock full of slap-stick comedy, but when did we start being movie snobs, and stop enjoying a good laugh now and then? I loved the cast. I especially loved the constant Mac talk. That William Macy character might have been my twin, but I sure don’t bag my own poop (spoiler).

Anyway, this movie must have been written specifically for John Eldredge. It was a perfect enactment of the entire book. Embracing adventure. Facing fears. Spotting poser mentalities. I couldn’t have asked for a better movie to watch as we get ready to wrap up this series.

I just feel sorry for that one lady who came by herself and was completely surrounded by the 15 of us. We were a little rowdy last night…
