I got tagged! My new blogging buddy, Aaron, tagged me with the subject “5 Things You Don’t Know About Me.” So here you go…Enjoy!
1. In my short 31 years I have lived in 4 states (South Dakota, Florida, Arkansas, Michigan), 2 countries (America, Germany), and have attended 11 different schools (college included).
2. I was baptized in 1988 at the Rosebud Church of Christ in Rosebud, Arkansas, but I can’t say that I’ve been truly relational with my Saviour until about 4 years ago. Thanks in no small part to a combination of a Pearl Jam message pit, Third Day, a former coworkers’ agnosticism, and a small men’s group called Construction Zone.
3. I am both a former Military Brat and a Preachers Kid. Do I ever love community!
4. I lettered in college (Harding University). They even gave me my very own leather lettermans jacket with my name stitched into the pocket. The sport, Intramural. I had to play every intramural sport the entire year—including special activities for those of us trying to get the jacket—and accumulate a certain amount of points. There are only a handful that get this every year. It’s one of my favorite accomplishments.
5. I’ve mentioned this before, but I used to be so into rap in middle school, that one day I wore a leather african medallion to school. I had a stereo system in my locker blaring De La Soul and M.C. Hammer, and my lifelong dream was to own a low rider with tinted windows and huge speakers. I’ve since moved on.
There you have it. This reminiscing will go a long way toward the new ‘About Me’ page I’m working on! Now I have to pass the torch to five more. I am tagging the following:

Nice work. As to number 5, I had a freind my freshman year in college that had a Ford Escort with Tinted Windows and a heart beat on them. The worst was he had…get this…CURB FEELERS! Dude was totally white too. Hilarious.
Nice work on the intramurals.
[...] was tagged by Dave to do this, who was tagged by Russell, which I guess means I have to do it. 1. When I started college, I was technically a computer [...]
Congrats on the intermural jacket… I had forgotten you got one of those!
However, that accomplishment is right up there with celebrity C-Team volleyball and NWO football.

I need to have some patches of those triumphs made to go on that jacket. I will never forget that first offensive drive in which we went no huddle and scored in three plays. Took them completely off guard!
Hey! I just found your blog by looking for Rose Bud. I now preach at the Rose Bud church of Christ, and have been for about 3 years now. I’m also a Harding alum. I hope you’re doing well. Just thought I would say “hello”. We very well may have some of the same folks around that were there when you were.
Nice to meet you Mark!
My dad used to preach up there as well. I think it was 87-88. It was really cool to see those pictures on your blog, as well as to hear about the new service.
I can’t remember their names, but there was a couple up there that had a house built underground. I helped pour the roof. Very nice people!
Carl & Norlene…..
That’s the ones!
Yeah! Carl and Norlene are still there and doing pretty well. Carl has always been such a hard worker, I think his health hasn’t been so good lately. They are around, and if you remember Opal Boggs or Sharen Crockett, they’re still around as well. Sharen’s three daughters all have children of their own now. It’s truly amazing how so many people have connections with a little town like Rose Bud.
