Conspiracy Theorists

Man, why do we love conspiracy theories? I know they intrigue me. Probably the biggest one of my time is the theory that our own government is behind the events of September 11, 2001. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t mildly interested in seeing and/or listening to evidence to support these claims. So much so that I watched a good chunk of the video called Loose Change a while back. While there were very interesting things in the video, overall it seemed a little less “documented” for my liking.

I say all this to say that I might see another conspiracy brewing. This most recent oil discovery off our gulf coast has me wondering it we actually knew it was there all along, but were waiting for the right time to tap into it. That perhaps they were testing our breaking point as a country dependent on oil.

Who knows, my other favorite conspiracies have yet to be played out.

1. Bin Laden is being held in hiding by the U.S. and will be “captured” before the end of Bush’s term to go out on a high note.

2. John Kerry was the fall guy to set up Hillary for a 2008 run for President.

I also like the theory that Apollo 13 never went to the moon. That is was all staged. Uncle Johns Reader has a whole story about it. They had some real good facts backing up their theory.

I like the one about Darth Vader being Luke’s father! B4T

I thought they had Bin Laden tewo years ago, and that the October before the presidential election they were going to “break” on the story. But I was way off, I gave them too much credit for actually finding him.

But your theory number two does sound incredibly feasible, but with only one hitch. Scientifically solid or not, Al gore has won over the majority of the voting MTV’ers and the late Gen’ Xers and Mosaics. He said he wasn’t running, but he’s got more momentum right now than he had back in 2000. Just a thought. Kerry was never going to win, all of us Dem’s knew that.

    Dave,

Thank You for minimizing the efforts of my close friends who are currently seeking out Bin Laden. Maybe you should have a lesson in history and geography before you spout off the ease of which we should have captured Bin Laden. Can you even begin to comprehend the extreme terrain that we and others have found ourselves in with this hunt? Not to mention the fan club this man has in that region makes the trail hard to follow. I wish we would have found him sooner as well, yet the complexity of it is more than you wish to offer with your “I gave them too much credit” speech. I also wish that more people wouldn’t blind themselves with some deep hatred for Bush, that they miss the efforts of soldiers who are doing a fantastic and yet very challenging job. If you want a deeper insight to the conflict we are in I would recommend an excellent book that opened my eyes…

I realized after I made my post that I said 13 I meant to say 11. Sorry about that.

I, too, am into conspiracy theories. I feel certain Oswald did not act alone no matter what the reports say.

Also, as it pertains to Bin Laden and the Afgan Pakistan area….just ask the Russians, known for their tough tactics and not giving up….were driven out of that area beaten to a bloody pulp. Thanks for the reminder of the brave soldiers that risk everything for all of us. Salute!

Sorry, folks, you’re off in your thinking. I’m not much into conspiracy theories…that surely settles the issue, does it not…the fact that I don’t believe much in conspiracies for these major events…Would one question my authority and considered opinion? :)

Blessings and Hope to everybody. Kudos to our armed forces!

I’ve noticed that too, how people can get so infatuated with conspiracy theories. I think there are a few valid ones out there, but how can people believe Bush was behind 9/11? I have yet to see any proof whatsoever even suggesting that. I know some folks have the mindset of “blame Bush for everything”, but this is ridiculous.

BTW, our country knows about a lot of oil in Alaska, the Gulf, and off the coast in California. The reasons (we’re given) why we aren’t drilling for it is because it’s too expensive and because of environmentalists. But perhaps we are saving our oil reserves until the Middle East starts running out and then ours would be worth a lot more… (how’s that for a conspiracy?) :)

Here’s a nice article that seems to debunk the theory of the governments involvement in 9/11: http://www.nypost.com
