Coming to a theater near you June 2, 2006.
I have to admit, when I first saw this advertised on Dave’s blog I was skeptical. So skeptical, actually, that I didn’t even watch the trailer.
Dumb move.
With that said, I leave you with the trailer for Nacho Libre to watch over and over and over this weekend.

Study: Prayer doesn’t affect heart patients
Thursday, March 30, 2006; Posted: 2:26 p.m. EST (19:26 GMT)
NEW YORK (AP) — In the largest study of its kind, researchers found that having people pray for heart bypass surgery patients had no effect on their recovery. In fact, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a slightly higher rate of complications.

I actually got a phone call from my wife asking me to pick up milk, bread and eggs from the grocery store. That order sounds so cliche, but it’s true. So I detoured down to my local grocery store, Busch’s, to pick up the goods. While there I ran into, Brandon, one of my favorite Busch’s employees. Then I made myself some free coffee. I believe it was some sort of Hawaiian blend. (I don’t even drink coffee.) Then I took off down the first isle to get the goods. I got distracted and wandered over to see if there were any magazines I had to have.
I have a serious problem in grocery stores. Tonia can attest to that. I could honestly spend hours floating down each isle, wondering how my life would be enhanced with every little option at my disposal. Now that I think about it, I’m surprised that Tonia even asked me to pick up anything. She always makes fun of me for coming home with a bag full of items after asking me to pick up one simple thing. She must have been desprate.
I actually considered writing about this while walking down my fifth isle (one that I knew didn’t have any milk, bread or eggs) and that effected the outcome of my trip. I wanted to be good and buy only the requested items to prove that I could do it.
Does anyone else have this problem in the grocery store?

One of the nicest things about switching over to WordPress is that it has a built in stat tracker for you. It let’s you know how many people are visiting the site each day. It tells you who comes to your site from web searches. It also tells you who refers to your website each day.
After being live for a full month you can start to see some trends.
I get the most refers per day from my old blog. (I’m curious who keeps going there to get here.) The top web search that leads people to my site continues to be the combination of “Christian” and “Swearing” and “Curse Words”. You can also notice a nice trend upwards in the readership from the chart above. Mondays are big reading days. Those dips are the weekends when I don’t post and people don’t read blogs. My highest hit total for a single day was 104. I’ll give you one guess which one it was.

I have to give extreme props to Mandisa for taking advantage of her opportunity to use one of the biggest stages in the world (second only to the Superbowl) to profess her faith. There are over 40 million viewers watching American Idol on Tuesday nights. It was so cool. I have to admit that I wasn’t blown away by her rendition, but I know somebody who wasn’t interested at all in her pitch last night!
Here was her song choice. If I ever find audio or video I’ll post that too.
Song: Shackles (Praise You)
Artist: Mary Mary
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I’m gonna praise you
I’m gonna praise you
In the corners of my mind
I just can’t seem to find a reason to believe
That I can break free
Cause you see I have been bound for so long
Felt like all hope is gone
But as I lift my hands, I understand
That I should praise you through my circumstance
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I’m gonna praise you
I’m gonna praise you
Everything that could go wrong
All went wrong at one time
So much pressure fell on me
I thought I was gonna lose my mind
But I know you wanna see
If I will hold on through these trials
But I need you to lift this load
Cause I can’t take it no more
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I’m gonna praise you
I’m gonna praise you
Been through the fire and the rain
Bound in every kind of way
But God has broken every chain
So let me go right now
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I’m gonna praise you
I’m gonna praise you

As with all relationships, it’s much easier if you understand each other. Tonia and I are on top of our game too. We’re clicking on all levels. Much of it, no doubt, has to do with me changing my bull-headed ways. It’s simply just not all about me. It’s about us. And when you figure out where the other one is coming from, and when they understand where you’re coming from, and you have true respect and love for each other, let me tell you, it doesn’t get any better!
And it only took me six and a half years. I love you Tonia!

I want to be like Sam and Ryan and Melissa. I want to care enough about someone to drop all my plans and drive down to be with them at their mothers’ funeral. Even if that means driving all night to Alabama and back. Even if that means losing some vacation time and some money. I want to be that committed to my friends.
Thanks guys for the motivation to love more real. Not just the words type of love, but the action type.

Reader beware. If you have any competative juices inside of you, you might want to avoid the following link: Typing Test
I’ve done this 4 times now and each time my WPM gets higher. Before too long I’ll have the entire paragraph typed by the end of the minute. (That ‘Stategic Alliances With Competitors’ test is crazy hard!)
